Yesterday I showed you the differences between the original and the new version of Shaka‘s 03 Hologram Violet, and some of you were wondering if the scattered version was similar to the famous Astra Holo Lacquers. I’m comparing it (2013 only) to the closest shades in that line, no. 706 Holo Pink and no. 707 Holo Purple.
As you can see, they’re not dupes. Although the scattered holo effect is comparable, shade and application are different. Shaka’s holos are thin and need sandwiching, while Astra’s are easier to apply without having to be extra careful.
Shaka is € 1,99/5ml, and Astra is € 4,00/12ml.
Holo is my favourite finish for the summer (duochromes for winter), so I’m happy to own them all. If you’d rather have only some of them, I hope this can work as a reference for you.
